" I ordered an SSD to use as a system disk, and within two days of operation it failed due to what I assume was a manufacturing fault.

The RMA was, although it sounds strange to say it, a delight to deal with. Scan were very helpful and informative, and the entire thing was processed within three days or so and the full balance was returned to my account.
